Avenger's Ravenna and Charlie Moore have been a driving force in the Lite Shod 3 Year Old division all year. They concluded the season by capturing World and World Grand honors for owner Amanda Forrest; she's rapidly becoming the Lite Shod mare to beat. Alen's High Intensity with Harry Dean Hobbs up for David Gibson rode to reserve honors.

Trail Pleasure Amateur Owned and Trained four year old roses went to Tatoo's Lucky Angel and Pam Goldman for James Love. Receiving second place was Not a Moment Too Soon with Rebecca Cook owner/rider.

Ten top young riders entered the ring for the 11 & under Trail Pleasure top award. Capturing first and second were two east Tennessee exhibitors. First was awarded to Tyler Sapp & Alen's Sunbeam. They were followed by Weapon's Total Package and Rachel Jernigan for her mom, Suzanne.

Generator's Got Color, owned by Bill & Betty Lancaster and last year's Reserve World Grand Champion weanling, has grown way up. He became this year's World Grand Champion Yearling. He was shown by Tommy Wilson and is the image of his daddy, Generators Color Guard. The Reserve Halter Yearling was Lethal Injection, exhibited by Sharon McGee for Mac McGee & Troy Richards.

The 1999 World Grand Champion Hy-Tone Dancer, owned by Freda Bullard, was purchased by Carl Price just prior to winning the Amateur 4 & Over Canter with Judy Young in the saddle. Later in the show, he carried his new young rider, Jeremy Price, to World and World Grand Championships in the Open Shod Youth 12-17 division. Tying reserve was the 1999 World Grand Champion 11 & Under Alen's Pure Honey with Amanda Jernigan in the saddle for the David Jernigan Family.

The Trail Pleasure 2 Year Old Grand Championship found Charlie Moore in the spotlight aboard Whiskey's Lightning Rod for John & Taylor Staten. Harry Dean Hobbs earned reserve with the Hobbs and Womble entry of Dan Marino.

The Open Shod Four Year Old World Grand Championship saw Phil Dunivan make the winning ride with Bill & Toni Overton's Bo's Majestic Man. Andy Clark and the Price Investments entry of Tattahatta Thunder tied reserve.

The Ricochet and Wanda Yeargan took command of the Lite Shod Amateur Three Year Old Grand Championship, with the Natural Pusher and Patrick Thomas up for Terry & Patrick Thomas for reserve.

The grand lady of the trail pleasure world, Lady Wolf, carried owner/rider Sis Osborne to the winner circle in the Trail Pleasure Amateur 4 & Over. Reserve went to the multi blue ribbon entry of Pusher's Pride with owner/rider Liz Mills up.

The Open Shod 2 Year Old Grand Championship saw Suzanne Brantley up on Mike & Karen Millers entry, Senator's Stormy Alen in the spotlight with Pride's Mr. Dillon featuring Allen Turner owner/rider in for the red. Stuntman's Gold Coin & owner/rider Larry Stigers bested a top group of Trail Pleasure Amateur 2 Year Olds to win the grand. Second was the well known Bojangle's Dixie Darling with Niki Thompson up for the Thompson Family.

She just keeps on winning & winning! Color's Peddler Style and owner/rider Toni Overton, last year's World & World Grand Three Year Old Amateur champions returned to defend their crown and defend they did, this time in the Four and Over Amateur Open Shod No Canter Championship. Making the Reserve ride was Jaquelyn Elliott and Lethal's Delight of Pride for Chris Jackson & Nancy Elliot. The Lite Shod Amateur two-year-old division saw Allen Turner up on Jim Dobson's recently purchased Patches Moondancer. In for second was Sun Rider with Tim Dove for Randy Click.

The Trail Pleasure Amateur Three Year Old Grand Championship found Julia Cole making her first spotlight ride in ten years. This time it was aboard Color's Good Advice. Reserve honors went to Bill Overton on the Overton's C.W.'s Ringeye.

Lite Shod Amateur Four & Over Canter Grand Championship saw Avenger's Sensation & owner/rider Jerry Markum take the blue. Sis Osborne made another World Grand Championship ride for Got Rox Farm, this time in the Trail Pleasure Amateur Owned and Trained 2 & 3 Year Olds, followed by Gen's Crown Jewel with Wendall Carver up for Wendell & Fay Carver. Last years World Grand Champion Open Shod 14.2 and Under repeated his win in 2000. Dickie Gardner once again teamed with Hand Painted Masterpiece to the limelight for Jessica Dean, with Scott Hannah bringing This Little Man of Mine to the reserve award for Abby Dickie.

Carolina & Mississippi took control of the Lite Shod Youth 12-17. Winners were Masterpiece From Time and Jaquelyn Elliott up for Nancy Elliott, with second going to Dillon's Bowtie and Cody Laster for Jan Porter & Britt Huffstatler. Master colt man Joe Campbell led Masquerading Blue Eyes for John Higgins to the World Grand Championship in the Weanling division. On hand to cheer them on was Tennessee Walking Horse World Grand Champion Masquerading's owner Dee Dee Sales. Bill & Betty Lancaster had the reserve winner in Whispers and Rumors with Robert Nelms

Cheyenne's Dillon and Brian Sullivan made the winning ride in the Open Shod Amateur 3 Year Old World Grand Championship. Dillon was last year's 2 year old Open Shod Grand Champion. John Kelly and I'm Fully Loaded were in for a good second for Rockaway Haven.

Avengers Dot Corn and Ronnie Sapp just keep on racking up the awards for owner Phyllis Brumagen. They have taken command of the Lite Shod two year old division all summer and the fall show was no exception, as they were crowned the World Grand Champion. Second only to this top horse was the Florida entry of Mary Ann Brown & Stacy Humphries, Rocky's Color Me Ransom with Dicky Bedwell. Since their first entrance into the Spotted Saddle Horse World, the Florida Group seldom misses a Spring or Fall Show and it's a long way from Florida!

The Trail Pleasure Youth 12-17 Grand Championship found Cotton's Medicine Man & Lauren Hamilton winners for Charles Lowe and Lauren, a fine young lady and a first class rider. Second, with several World Championships in 2000, was Pusher's Pride with Jeremy Colbert up for Liz Mills.

Another west Tennessee young rider from a horseman's family took the World Grand Championship honor in the Open Shod Youth I I & Under. Samantha Mohon on her thrilling HyTone's Wildfire earned the floral horseshoe, with reserve going to the west Tennessee entry of Mary Jane Dickey and This Little Man of Mine.

Competition was great in 1999 and was expected to be even greater in 2000 - and it certainly was, from the SSHBEA kick off Bar-B-Que on Sunday till the last horse left the ring on Saturday night. Middle Tennessee is Horse country but the numbers of top Spotted Saddle Horses that are coming from out of the state is a sight to behold.
