During the Saturday night performance at the SSHBEA Spring Show the crowd was treated to a thrilling exhibition by Melissa Scott and her fabulous Ace’s Travelin Bandit. Doing a routine to Lee Greenwood’s song, "God Bless The USA "Melissa put Bandit through his performance, first with a bridle and then bridleless with only a garland of roses around his neck. In keeping with the Greenwood song Bandit and Melissa were dressed in red, white and blue. Silver stars adorned Bandit; silver metallic streamers were woven into his mane and tail and he had silver wraps on his front legs.
Spinning to the left and to the right, doing flying lead changes, side passes and all out full gallop, the pair received thundering applause from those in attendance during the exhibition.
Ace’s Traveling Bandit is the 1999 World Champion SSHBEA Sport Horse Stallion and the winner of the Freestyle riding at the 1999 Tennessee Volunteer Horse Fair in Murfreesboro, TN. Bandit is also an ambassador for the world-renowned Kentucky Horse Park, and is scheduled to attend their Parade of Breeds June 29-30 and July 26-28 in Lexington, Kentucky to promote the versatility of the SSHBEA Sport Horse.
Melissa Scott and Bandit have attended clinics where they have outperformed several quarter horses and they have competed in NRHA reining classes. In his off time Bandit has been used as a lesson horse, quite a repertoire for a Spotted Saddle Horse.
