The Eighteenth Annual SSHBEA Fall World Grand Championship Show was held September 30 thru October 5, 2002 at the top of the line indoor Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville, TN. Entries were up 46 head over 2001 for a grand total of 1,459
in 2002.

Each year the barn areas get just a little better as more and more stables strive to make their home away from home the best, the most attractive and the most comfortable. The pride trainers and owners take in putting their best foot forward is second to none.

The Ladies Auxiliary were the force behind the professional show horse looking center ring in the arena. Hat's off to this hard working group not only at the Championship Show but all year long.

Show officials for the 2002 event were once again headed up by Show Chairman, Boyd Melton. Judges for the six days were Cordell Hobby, Kim McMahan, Dwayne Sullivan, Robert Dalton and Carol Wakefield. Back at the mike was Arlie Weddington with Brian Perry and his talented keyboard providing the music. Jack Greene was the center ring action
and presentation photographer while Gary and Sharon Leverette handled the outside shots and video photography. As always Janice Prince and Beverly Brown kept the entry
office running right on par. Farrier for the show was Eric Gray and L & M Awards were responsible for making all of the ribbons. Freda Wassom and Deedy Decker co-chaired the Fall Program Committee and committee members consisted of SSHBEA's President Travis Kelley and his wife Amy, Amber Porter, Mark Cutlip, Janie Rowland, Angie Wassom, Hugh
Wassom and Debbie Brown.

The Corporate Sponsor list has risen in the past three years from 88 in 2000, to 116 in 2001, to 121 in 2002. The generous support from SSHBEA's Corporate Sponsors is
greatly appreciated. Without their continuing support this World Class Show could not continue to grow as it does. A special thanks to Travis Kelley-always the driving force
behind this committee.
