The minutes had been mailed and Janie Rowland made the motion to approve them, Aaron Crafton seconded, motion passed.

Mack Motes was present to update the board on the USDA Operating Plan and the meetings that had been held. Dr. Todd Behre will be in town for a May 16 meeting and he would possibly be able to come to our office to meet with us on the 15th and we could move our board meeting to Monday instead of Tuesday. The USDA had asked us to make our suspension list public. They had asked if our people got a ticket, how long would it be before that person could serve on the board again. Janie Rowland made the motion to put the USDA violations suspension list on the website and state in the magazine that this list is on our website. Sis Osborne seconded, motion passed.

Next we voted on the NHC judges that had met the criteria to be approved by our rules and all that passed were added to the hat/box for us to draw for our Spring Show judges. Then the names were drawn from the hat/box. Ronnie Sapp made the motion to pay the judges $175/night, Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed with 1 no vote. Tammy Coffman would see if she could get complimentary rooms for the out of town judges.

Aaron/Travis presented the Financial Report and after discussion Bob Wright made the motion to approve it, Roy Franklin seconded, motion passed. Janie Rowland made the motion to publish the Bad Debt list on the website, Tamara Sullivan seconded, motion passed. Aaron and Travis are to create this list. We are going to continue to try to acquire corporate sponsors after the spring show for $400 instead of $500 or else offer them something extra and charge the $500.

Brenda Wright was present to address the possible change in the Country Trail Pleasure in letting CTP show in the regular Trail Pleasure classes. Brenda and her Trail Pleasure committee was against this change. It would stay as is. Brenda also reported that Sport Horse and Trail Pleasure are having a show (Sport Horse and Trail Pleasure classes only) on June 24. Trail Pleasure also does the Summer Classic – she is concerned about TP being able to do the June 24 event and then doing the Summer Classic by them self (being able to acquire enough sponsors). Travis has someone in mind to ask to head up the Performance committee and he would see if he would want to join in on the Summer Classic. Brenda also addressed the Amateur Owned & Trained issue of an Am O & T horse having dual owners and the owners not being immediate family and both showing Am. O & T. There was discussion about this – there would be no changes.

Dan Meyer reported the Illinois Horse Fair was very successful – bigger and better than last year. The Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin is this weekend and they are going there with 4 horses. He asked for more supplies/handouts/promotional items to take to this fair since it is so large.

Dan had checked on alternative annual meeting locations – Fall Creek Falls or Manchester without much response. Sis Osborne made the motion to check on the Blue Ribbon Room for the Awards Banquet, at the Celebration Grounds. Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed. Another possibility would be, go back to the Double Tree hotel in Murfreesboro.
