Motes would be attending a USDA meeting representing SSHBEA – Johnny Smith
made the motion for the board to go on record giving Mack full support, Kim
McMahan seconded, motion passed.
Johnny
Smith reported he hadn’t had any luck finding someone to commit as an
alternate judge. Johnny was asked to
call Billy Murray – he did and Billy refused.
If we have a problem in will have to be addressed at that time.
Travis
reported that we need to contact our senators and representatives in support of
the Blankenship Bill (something to do with the scar rule).
Travis is to get info on this and pass out at the fall show on the 1st
Saturday night. Johnny Smith made
the motion to support this bill, Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.
Cindy
Haley, Youth Council sponsor, was present and she asked if a Youth Council
Country Trail Pleasure class could be added to the fall show.
She had several calls from members with CTP horses.
After discussion, the class would be added as 23A.
Keith Davis offered for Windy Hill Farm to sponsor the ribbons or belt
buckle. Youth Council will sponsor
the class. Cindy reported the youth
council members want to present ribbons in the stick horse class and lead line
class and the president of the Youth Council will present ribbons in the Youth
Council classes.
Freda
Bullard questioned the specs for the Country Trail Pleasure shoe and how the
judges are judging and maybe we should adopt the procedure the Rocky Mountain
horses go by, which is how high the horse breaks determines which division they
show in. Sis is to check on the
Johnny
Smith suggested changing the 14.2 & under classes to 15 hands and under.
Freda Bullard suggested adding Country Trail Pleasure to those
classes. Janie thought we might
should leave the 14.2 & under for the CTP and Trail Pleasure.
Aaron
Crafton went over the Financial Report and Judy Hooker made the motion to
approve it, Kim McMahan seconded, motion passed.
Janice
Higgins asked if the Sport Horse division could do an exhibition on September 30
during the fall show. This was
approved.
Tammy
Coffman expressed concern about the telephone poles.
After discussion she made the motion to not allow phone poles from this
point on, Janie Rowland seconded, motion passed.
If something financial or a drastic emergency comes up a special board
meeting will be called instead. There
was discussion about doing conference calls.
Travis
appointed a committee to deal with the USDA if the need arises.
Mack Motes, Johnny Smith, Roy Franklin, Danny Davis and himself.
Kim McMahan made the motion to approve this committee to deal with the
USDA, Freda Bullard seconded, motion passed.
