2008 High Point Info

For the year long High Point the 3 divisions are:

Agility = Trail Obstacle / Competitive Trail Ride / Hunting

Speed = Poles / Barrels / Jumping

Cow Horse = Team Penning / Shotgunning / Reining(

Reining was originally in the Agility Division – it was the decision of the Sport Horse committee it should be in the Cow Horse Division and this was approved by the SSHBEA BOD.)

WHERE

S.S.H.B.E.A. Sport Horse puts on two large shows in TN. One in April, Spring Round-up, to kick off the season, and one in November, The World Championship, to end out the season. There are several one day shows and weekend events put on throughout the season, by the Sport Horse committee, State Clubs, and by civic organizations. During the 2008 season, look for shows in Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois, Florida, Utah, and several other states. Go to the Show Sheet Section to view upcoming shows.

AWARDS

On top of many Blue Ribbons, Sport Horse contestants may also compete for S.S.H.B.E.A. Yearly Points Awards and World Champion All-Around Awards. Yearly Point Awards are given by S.S.H.B.E.A. at the Annual Banquet for the horse in each division with the most points gathered over the Season. The Divisions are Colt-in Hand, 11 & Under, 12 to 17 year olds, 2 year olds, and for the Open contenders Agility, Cattle, and Speed.

The World Champion All-Around Awards are given at the end of the World Championship Show in November. These awards are based on points earned only during the World Championship. The Categories for these awards are 11 & Under, 12 to 17 years old, 2 year olds, Mare, Stallion, and Gelding, Non-Pro, & 3 & 4 year Olds. Then a All- Around World Grand Champion is named from the winners of the Mare, Stallion, and Gelding categories. The World Championship Colt-In Hand Trail Obstacle class awards special recognition to the winner of this class with a Belt Buckle.

For full rules on these Awards please refer to the S.S.H.B.E.A. Rule Book.
